WhatsApp chatbot or website chatbot, which does a small business need?
Most Delhi shops need the chat where people already write, which is usually WhatsApp, and sometimes also the site.
Most Delhi shops need the chat where people already write, which is usually WhatsApp. A website chatbot only helps the people who open the site and never message you, and if nobody uses the site, that widget is a toy.
A gym in Saket already has the quarterly fee sitting in WhatsApp at 10pm. A salon in Rajouri Garden already has Saturday slots in the same app. Start with that pile. Do not buy a bubble on a page that nobody opens.
WhatsApp is where the messages already are
Look at the phone, not the pitch. If the unread stack is WhatsApp, that is the job. Price, timings, do you take walk ins. The same three, after the floor shuts or both hands are in a colour.
The AI chatbots page is chat on the site and on WhatsApp that reads your prices, timings and services and answers from those. A question it cannot answer is handed to you, not looped. You do not have to switch both on at once. You can start with the channel that already holds the week.
WhatsApp Business is a free-to-download app. That is WhatsApp’s own line, and it is true of their app. It is not the same thing as a NexBuilt chatbot. The free app gives you a business profile, lists and quick replies you still type. A bot that answers from your list and books a slot when the rule is written down is extra work on top of that app. Do not confuse the download with the build.
Salon WhatsApp bookings is the longer version of that week: Saturday requests mixed with price questions, and two people taking the same chair because nobody owned the list. The bot does not fix a diary that lives in two heads. It writes into one list you already trust, or we start by making that list.
When the site chat helps
Site chat helps the people who never message. They searched, they opened the page, they want the fee and a trial without starting a chat with a stranger. If your site actually gets those people, a reply on the page can catch them before they tap the next gym.
If the site is a Facebook page, or a theme that is still loading, the widget will not be seen. Are chatbots actually useful already says people close a bot that loops. They also never open a bot that sits on a dead page.
I will not invent a split of how many people prefer the site to WhatsApp. I have not counted every visitor in Delhi NCR. The honest check is yours: open the last month of WhatsApp, then open whatever analytics you already have on the site. One of those piles is larger. Start there.
You can start with one
Chat starts at Rs 15,000. That is a floor on the pricing page for chat on the site and WhatsApp that answers the usual questions and books a slot. Two channels cost more than one, because the answers have to live in both places and keep running after I leave.
Start with the channel that already holds the unread stack. The other channel can wait. I will not sell both so the quote looks full.
Can a chatbot book clinic appointments still applies on either channel. Yes if you can write the rule down. No if the diary is a notebook and two people already double book. The channel does not invent the rule.
The bot is not a replacement for the front desk. A walk in, or a colour correction, still needs a person. The WhatsApp bot answers the midnight fee. The stylist still does the colour. The trainer still does the tour.
What I will not tell you
I will not tell you that WhatsApp always wins, or that a site widget always looks more premium. Premium is a word agencies use. A toy on a page that nobody opens is still a toy.
I will not quote a Wix or WordPress chat add-on price, and I will not quote Meta’s paid WhatsApp rates as if they were mine. If keeping the bot alive needs a billed number or a model, I name that cost before I start. You own the thing.
I will not tell you the free WhatsApp Business app is enough if your week is already a pile of the same three questions at midnight. Quick replies still need a person to tap them. Away messages still go stale. That is fine for a shop that answers by 8am. It is not the same job as an answer at 11pm from a list you wrote.
What to do with the pile
Open WhatsApp. Count the messages that are only price, timings or walk ins. If that count is the week, start there. If the site is where people already try to book and the page opens, add the widget. If neither pile exists, you may not need a chatbot, and I will say so.
Then get in touch. Open WhatsApp and count the fee questions before you call. except Sunday.
