What happens to my voice agent or chatbot if you are unavailable?
The line keeps answering if the number, the model and the host sit in your name. A fortnight I am ill should not take the shop offline.
The agent keeps answering if the number, the model and the host sit in your name. My being ill for a fortnight does not take the line down if those logins are yours.
I will not tell a gym in Dwarka or a restaurant in Khan Market that I am a second receptionist on call every Saturday. I am one person. Continuity is ownership, not a promise that I never sleep.
What stays up when I am not in the inbox
An AI voice agent and an AI chatbot run on accounts. After handover those accounts are yours.
- The shop number, or the paid number if we added one, on a bill you can open.
- The model, if a model bill exists, on a bill you can open.
- The host, if anything besides a static page has to stay up, on a bill you can open.
- The list of answers, in a file you can edit.
If those four are in your name, a week I cannot reply does not mute the line. The agent still speaks the card. The bot still answers the usual fee. The odd case still becomes a message to you.
Can I cancel or move later is the exit for a site. Do I lose control if someone else builds it is the lock. This page is the same ownership rule for a running agent.
Voice starts at Rs 25,000. Chat starts at Rs 15,000. Both floors live on the pricing page. Continuity is part of handover, not a later retainer I hide.
What the handover note contains
A note you can read without me.
- Where the list lives, and how to change Tuesday hours or a fee.
- The three logins, and the mail that owns them.
- How forwarding is set, if we used forwarding. Keeping the board number is that path.
- Who the provider is, if a billed number or a model is in the stack, and where their bill arrives.
- What to do if a bill fails: the line dies, and the fix is the card, not a ticket to me.
I will walk that note with you while we are still speaking. A note you first see during a fortnight I am ill is not a handover. It is a hope.
Website files already follow this rule. The agent is the same rule with a phone attached.
What still needs a person
A fee that changed in your head and nowhere else. The agent will say the old number until you edit the card.
A provider outage. I cannot keep Twilio or a model up from a sickbed. Their status pages are theirs. I will not invent an uptime figure.
A question off the list. That still comes to you. If you are also away, that message waits. The agent does not become a counsellor because I am ill.
A shop that never opened the logins will still feel stuck. Ownership you never tested is not ownership. Do the dry run while I can still sit on the call.
Downsides of holding the stack yourself
You will see the bills. I name them before I start. I will not invent the rupees.
You can break the card. A midnight edit that hides the fee will be spoken as truth. Keep a copy of the last good card.
You can ignore a failed bill. The line then dies the same way a domain dies when a cousin’s card expires. That death is not me being unavailable. That death is an unpaid line.
A restaurant that wants me to “just watch it” forever is asking for a retainer I do not sell as a black box. If you want a later change, you write. If I am away, the note is how the floor survives until I am back.
I will not tell you one-person continuity is the same as a bench of engineers. It is not. The honest version is accounts you hold, a note you can read, and a line that does not need me to breathe.
Do the dry run before you need it
Log in. Change nothing. Confirm the mail. Confirm the card. Read the note out loud. If any step needs me to “send it later”, you do not have continuity yet.
Then get in touch if the dry run failed. Bring the logins you can open and the ones you cannot. I will say the line can live without me, the names still sit in the wrong mail, or you should keep a person on the phone and skip the agent.
