My website gets visitors but no enquiries. Should I rebuild or fix it?

How to tell whether a quiet site needs a rebuild or a smaller fix, without guessing a conversion rate.

Open the site on a mid range Android on 4G before you rebuild anything. If it takes eight to ten seconds, fix that first, and if it opens and there is no way to write, that is the hole, not the logo.

I cannot tell you a conversion rate. A gym in Dwarka and a dental clinic in Green Park can have the same quiet form for different reasons. The phone test and the enquiry path are the checks I can actually run.

The phone test first

Use a mid range Android. Use mobile data. First visit, no wifi, no cached copy on your own phone. Time the wait until you can read what the shop does and find a way to write.

People leave after three seconds. Most of the clinic pages I have opened sit at eight to ten seconds. Those nine clinic pages sat at 8.8s, 2.4 MB, PageSpeed 54. I will not invent a tenth.

If your page is still loading when a stranger would have gone, a new brand on the same stack will not save you. Why the website is slow on a phone is the longer version. Heavy theme, uncompressed photos, tracking scripts. A new theme on the same pile often stays slow.

Fix the wait before you hire someone to redraw the mark. The websites job starts at Rs 30,000 on the pricing page when the job is a fast, mobile first site, not a reskin. That is a build floor, not a quote. Usually under two weeks for a site. You keep the domain login and the host after I leave.

If the page already opens in the kind of time a person will wait, do not rebuild it for speed. You have a different hole.

When the hole is the enquiry path

A quiet site that opens is often missing the next step. No phone. No WhatsApp. A form that hides under a menu. Fees that are “contact us”. A trial button that opens a PDF.

Sit as the stranger. You found a gym. You want the quarterly fee and a day pass. Can you get that without a call that rings out? You found a clinic. You want the next slot after 6. Can you ask without waiting on a page that is still loading?

If they can read you and cannot write, that is the hole. The fix can be small. Put the number where a thumb can hit it. Put a way to book that is not another Instagram message. Say the hours that match the door.

If they write and nobody answers, the site is not the hole. The inbox is. Booking automation is Instagram, the form and WhatsApp in one place, the usual questions answered, the rest chased. The inbox floor is Rs 15,000. It will not help if there is no way to write in the first place. It will not help if you already answer the same hour.

When a rebuild is waste

A rebuild is waste when the page already opens and people can already write or book. You may still hate the type. That is a taste problem. It is not an enquiry problem.

A rebuild is also waste when you have no visitors of the kind who book. A clinic site that nobody finds is failing the listing or the pin, not the form. Rebuilding the brand will not move the pin.

A rebuild is waste when the only complaint is that it does not look like a competitor’s theme. Their theme may be the eight to ten second one. I will tell you if the site you have is already doing the job.

What I cannot tell you

I cannot tell you how many enquiries a site “should” get. Whether a website will bring more customers is the same refusal without the rebuild question. Catchment, reviews, hours, and a person who replies still sit outside the page. I will not invent a rate and then sell you a rebuild against it.

I cannot tell you that a prettier page converts. I can tell you a page that never arrives converts nobody. I cannot see your analytics from here. If you have them, look at how many people reached the page and how many used the number or the form. If you do not, the phone test and a week of “did anyone write” beat a guess. I do not have a city average.

A smaller list than a new brand

Write three lines before you spend.

  • Seconds to open on a mid range Android on 4G.
  • Whether a stranger can write or book without a hunt.
  • Whether those messages get an answer the same day.

If line one fails, fix speed. If line two fails, fix the path. If line three fails, fix the inbox. If all three pass, you may not need me.

A rebuild is often the wrong first spend. Read the cheapest thing that actually works before you pay the floor to redraw a page that already opens.

Then get in touch if you want a second pair of eyes on those three lines. A short call. What the phone test did, what they can do next, and what happens when they write. I will say rebuild, fix, or leave it, and I will not invent a conversion rate to make the work look larger.

The ones people actually ask.

What should I do before I rebuild the brand?

Open the site on a mid range Android on 4G, first visit. If it takes eight to ten seconds, fix that before you touch the logo.

When is a rebuild a waste?

When the page already opens and people can already write or book, but you do not like the type. Looks are not the enquiry path. I will tell you if yours is already doing the job.

Can you tell me what conversion rate I should get?

No. I cannot tell you a conversion rate. Area, reviews, hours and whether anyone answers when they write all sit outside the page.
