Justdial vs your own website, which should a Delhi shop pay for?
Justdial is a paid listing on their platform. Your site is a page you own. Who holds the enquiry is the split.
Justdial is a paid listing people search. Your own site is a page you own. The enquiry on Justdial starts on their platform. The enquiry on your site starts on yours.
I will not invent a yearly Justdial rupee for a dental clinic in Green Park or a restaurant in Khan Market. Their own deck refuses a single price.
What each one actually is
Justdial is a local search product. People type a trade and an area. They see a list. You can pay to sit in that list.
Justdial’s January 2026 corporate presentation says paid advertisers pay a fixed fee to run search-led campaigns on their platforms, that premium and non-premium packages change placement, and that price follows the advertiser’s category, the geographies targeted, and the type of package. I will not turn that paragraph into a Delhi rate card.
A website is a page at a name you hold. Fees. Today’s hours. A way to write. The files sit in your name after a build I do. A NexBuilt site starts at Rs 30,000 on pricing. That floor is the page, not a Justdial package.
Whether a Google listing is enough is the closer cousin. Google’s listing is a pin and hours, and you cannot pay Google for a better local rank. Justdial is a different company selling placement on their own list.
How Delhi NCR customers find local businesses is the search mix. This page is only Justdial versus a page you own.
IndiaMART is another paid list some product shops already sit on. I will not invent their yearly fee either. The same ownership split applies. Their lead is their inbox until it reaches you.
Who owns the enquiry
On Justdial, the person started on Justdial. The lead arrives the way they send it: a call, a form, a message inside their product. You answer, or you lose it. You do not own their search page.
On your site, the person opened a URL you hold. The form, the chat, or the number on that page is yours to move. If you leave me later, the page can leave with you, if the domain and host are in your name.
A Green Park clinic that already pays Justdial and still has no fee table anywhere is paying for discovery and then sending people into a chat pile. The package did not fail. The next page is missing.
A Khan Market restaurant that already fills tables from walk-ins and WhatsApp may be buying a list they never open. Open last month’s Justdial leads before you renew. If the inbox is empty, the package is a poster.
When the listing is the cheaper honest start
If people already find you there, already call, and already book, keep it. Fix the hours. Answer the leads the same day.
If you have no site and no Google listing either, I will not tell you to buy Justdial and a page in the same week. Pick the leak. A bilingual page is a later language question, not a reason to sign two vendors.
If the Justdial page shows last year’s Sunday, that is the first fix. A new site will not save a stale paid list.
When the page starts to earn its keep
When they want a fee table, a real menu, or a booking that is not another call through a third inbox.
When you want the URL on the card to be yours, not a Justdial link you rent.
When you are tired of a lead that dies if the package lapses.
I will not tell you a site replaces Justdial for every shop. Some weeks still start on their list. A page you own is what they open after they already want you.
Downsides of paying both without looking
Two fees. Two places hours can drift. Two inboxes.
A package that “includes a website” is often a page inside their account. Ask whose login holds it. If the answer is Justdial, you are renting a poster. That is fine if you know it. It is not a site you can pack.
I will not invent how many extra tables a paid list created for a shop I have not sat. Open last month. Count the leads that became a booking. Compare that count with the invoice they sent. That compare is yours.
Open last month before you renew either
Bring the Justdial invoice and the lead list. Bring the live URL, if you have one. Open both.
Then get in touch. I will say keep the package, build the page, do both, or do neither because the week already closes without them.
