Chatbot or a contact form, which gets more enquiries?
I will not name a winner. A form waits for you to read mail. A bot answers the usual questions from a list. Which produces more writes is a count from your own week.
A contact form waits in a mailbox. A chatbot answers the usual questions from a list you wrote. A form wins when the enquiry is long and rare and you already read mail. A bot wins when the same three questions arrive after hours.
Which pile grows is a count from your own gym or salon week. I cannot tell you which gets more enquiries. I will not invent that figure.
Are chatbots actually useful is the loop problem. Chatbots versus a phone call is the other channel. Visitors but no enquiries is the page that offered neither a form nor a write that anyone saw.
What a form actually does
Someone types a name, a number, a line. Mail arrives, or a sheet row appears, if the plugin still works. Nobody answers until a person opens that mail.
That is honest when the week is quiet and you read mail at lunch. It is a leak when the form goes to an address nobody checks, or when the stranger wanted a quarterly fee at 9pm and got a “we will get back to you”.
I will not tell you the average reply time for Delhi forms. I do not have it. Open last month’s inbox. If the unread pile is the week, the form is already failing without a bot.
What a bot actually does
An AI chatbot on the site or on WhatsApp speaks from prices, timings and services you listed. Price, hours, walk ins. When it does not know, it says so and hands you the thread. It does not invent a colour price.
Floor Rs 15,000 on pricing. That is a build, not a promise that more people will write. A widget on a page that never opens still talks to nobody. People leave after three seconds. Fix the wait or skip the widget.
WhatsApp’s Business app page says the app is free to download and names quicker replies. Those replies can hold a short pile without a build. Use the free replies first if the pile is short.
A Dwarka gym week and a Hauz Khas salon week
I will not pick a winner for India. I will ask you to count two shops the same way, then stay with your own numbers.
A gym near Dwarka Mor spent a week marking trial questions. The site form asked for a name and a “message”. Most strangers never touched it. WhatsApp already held the trial fee, the first class time, and “do you have parking”. Those chats closed when a person answered. The form sat. If that is your week, a bot belongs on the chat they already use, not as a second mailbox.
A salon off Hauz Khas Village had the opposite pile. Walk-ins used the form because the desk phone was busy with colour. The form landed in the owner’s Gmail. She answered at lunch. Saturday DMs asked the same colour prices, then went quiet when nobody typed back until night. I will not say the form “won”. I will say she already closed the lunch pile, and the night pile was still a leak.
Count your own seven days the same way. Gym week. Salon week. Do not borrow either story as a national rate.
How to work “which gets more” from your shop
Pick seven days. Do not pick a launch week.
- How many people submitted the form. How many of those became a trial, a colour, a batch seat.
- How many people wrote on WhatsApp or Instagram with the same questions. How many of those closed.
- How many opened the site and left with no write. You may not have that last count. If you do not, say so. I will not invent it.
If the form already closes enough of the week, keep the form. If the chats already are the week and the form is empty, the bot belongs on the chat, not as a second form.
I will not turn those marks into a national winner. Shops differ. A coaching centre form at admission time is not a salon Saturday DM.
Honest downsides
A form is easy to ignore. A bot with a wrong list is easy to repeat. Both can sit on a slow theme and still lose the stranger before either tool loads.
A bot that loops will be closed. That close is fair. Do not buy a bot to look modern if you will not write the list.
What I will not tell you
I will not tell you forms are dead. I will not tell you every gym must ship a widget this quarter. I will not tell you a bot “converts 3x”. I have no such study.
Reach the desk Monday to Saturday between 10 and 8.
What to do with last week’s two piles
Write the two counts on one line: form closes, chat closes.
Bring those two counts. I will say keep the mailbox, put a bot on the pile that already exists, or leave both alone because the page itself never arrives.
